How to plan for solar panels for a new home?

Everyone has a dream to build their own new home. But building a new home is very challenging and a difficult process as well. There are so many things one should keep in mind such as finding the perfect block of land in the best suburbs, selecting the right builder and other things like furnishings, colours, fittings etc. If you decide to install solar panels on your rooftop when your home is being built, you can ensure that your home is designed with solar PV systems. While your solar energy system doesn’t need to be at the centre of all your home design decisions, anticipating and eliminating potential issues at the time of construction is a lot easier than trying to work around them later. The “ideal” solar home has a south-facing roof to capture as much sunlight as possible over the course of the day.  Every roof types are suitable for solar installation but some roof types will be difficult for the solar installers to work with. SOLAR ENERGY STORAGE SOLUTIONS

Indian Electricity sector is undergoing fundamental changes in utilisation of electrical energy. The transformation brings in Variable Renewable Energy sources to the network and its optimisation through large-scale storage systems. For the first time in Kerala, a seminar was conducted in Thiruvananthapuram on Solar Energy Storage Solutions on 27 July 2018. The seminar was organized by Raychem RPG, in association with Soura Natural Energy Solutions India Pvt Ltd and supported by Anert, the State Nodal agency for Renewable Energy. The venue of the Seminar was the Hotel Taj Vivanta. The participants in the event included Technocrats from Department of Power, State Utility major KSEBL, Nodal Agency Anert, State Electrical Inspectorate, Energy Management Centre, C-DAC, INKAL, DER operators, Distribution Licensees, Open Access Consumers, Smart City, Academy, Consultants and various other market participants. The technical presentation was made by Raychem RPG. Director Mr Nit...

Solar Panel Installation Procedures

Are you decided and ready to go solar and save your earth? It’s a good decision actually. Welcome to the growing community of homeowners around the globe who care about energy savings and creating a healthier planet for future generations. Then the first step you have to do is to select the best solar panel installer in your area whom can do it perfectly for you.  And along with that, you should be aware of the overall functioning and price of solar panels and its installation. Before choosing the solar installer you should ask them the following questions: 1.  Ask how long it takes to install and interconnect a solar system to the grid and whether they have a waitlist.  2.   Ask them about the subsidies, if they provide or not. 3.   Ask them what solar panels and other equipment they offer, including what types of inverters and solar panels they use. Then research to find out which equipment you want them to install.   ...

FLOATING SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAICS

Most current Photo Voltaic solar systems are typically designed for land-based applications and require large tracts of land which could otherwise be used for agriculture, housing or industrial construction. The Floating Solar Photo Voltaic (FSPV) market is a new growing market. In general, the cost of the water surface is much lower than the cost of land. Solar panels installed on land face reduction of yield, as the land gets heated up. When such panels are installed on a floating platform, the heating problem is solved to a great extent. A floating solar power station would prove to be a revolutionary step as it could solve the perennial problem of land.  A normal FSPV can be installed on all types of water bodies like lakes, saltwater lakes, reservoirs, irrigation ponds, small water sources, dams, rivers etc. Applications can also be extended to Water retention pond, Drinking water pond, Aquaculture pond, Water treatment reservoir, Hydroelectric Dam, Industrial w...

Advantages of On-Grid and Off-Grid Power Plant

What is On Grid Power System? The solar power system which is connected to the main power supply is called as the on-grid solar power system . They are also known as grid-tie system or integrated system. Using this system will help you to get consist electricity. If your solar power system can’t provide the necessary electricity at certain times you will get power from the grid. And if your system produces more electricity you can give to the grid and will have monetary gains. Either this may calculate the total electricity you took from the grid or through some incentive policy. Advantages of On-Grid Power Plant: Utilise the 100% power and supply to Govt. if solar power is not in use. Reduce power and diesel consumption.  Fully utilises the solar in first priority and then remaining power take from the grid. Saves on both electricity cost and diesel bills. An economically viable system where battery bank is not required. Savings from the system lead to a pay...

The Health & Environmental Benefits of Solar Energy

Solar being the renewable energy sources are safer because they produce little to no global warming emissions. This means the reduction of air and water pollution and abundant renewable energy source directly from the sun. Therefore, increasing the supply of renewable energy will reduce global warming emissions to a significant level. The health and environmental benefits are as follows: >> Solar reduces air pollution Harmful carbon dioxide and methane emissions from fossil fuels, our traditional energy source, are leading contributors to global warming and decreased air quality. But generating electricity with solar panels produces no greenhouse gasses whatsoever. In fact, the solar capacity currently installed across the United States is expected to offset as much as 16.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide a year. That's a huge step towards mitigating the human impact of climate change. >> Solar reduces water pollution While all manufacturing proc...
