RESURRECTION WORKS OF SOLAR PV INSTALLATIONS

Solar Panel Installation Kerala

Kerala faced the fury of nature in the form of heavy rains. During August 2018, the incessant rains and subsequent floods threw life out of gear in most parts of the State. Even at the time of writing this blog, efforts are on to put the infrastructure facilities back to work. State incurred loss of precious human lives, damages to property, Livestock, settlements etc.

During the worst humanitarian crisis, Kerala faced, Soura Natural Energy Solutions pitched into the relief operation works along with the State administration and the Disaster Management Authority. Soura volunteered to reach the affected areas, helped the victims to be shifted to relief camps. Besides this, Soura organized food and drinking water to the general public housed in the relief camps. Soura provided solar powered lighting systems in the disaster area, where grid became unavailable. To establish communication systems with the people, we provided Solar powered mobile charging stations at multiple locations.

As the flood water started receding, Soura pushed more efforts into the rehabilitation works. Our volunteers got engaged in the cleaning activities of the houses submerged in water.

The state administration is now focused on the restoration works of the Electrical Distribution network. The meeting called by the Minister of Power, Government of Kerala on 21 August 2018 outlined the damages caused by flood and rains to the electrical infrastructure of the utility major KSEBL. Jobs are undertaken at war footing basis on a mission mode. Named MISSION RECONNECT, this is coordinated by a Chief Engineer who heads a task force to implement the works back to normal operations. No money would be collected from any of the beneficiaries towards reconnection or replacement costs of damages service wires, energy meters, isolators, cut-out fuses etc.

SOURA offered free of cost services towards works to rectify solar plants in the affected areas, through ANERT. Soura also offered free services to support the installation of HLS being distributed by ANERT in the affected areas.

We would post more about Soura’s interventions in the Disaster Management activities in due course.

  1. Another important decision is where to install your solar panels. You may be able to get a system installed by your local utility company,
but you may also be able to get a solar system installed by a solar consultant. The advantage of having a solar consultant install your system is
that they will have experience with different types of
    solar panels

  2. The first step is to find out what your roof can support in terms of weight and size, then you have to measure the area that you want covered by the solar panels, Worcester solar water heater then you have to research what kind of panel will work best for your home

Advantages of Using Solar Power in Petrol Pumps

India has over 50,000 petrol pumps catering to the demand of the country. And do you know how much electricity a petrol pump needs every day? It requires more than 5 KW of electricity every day for their operations. This amounts to a total capacity of over 1,440 KW of power required for a year per petrol station. Running your petrol pump on electricity is possible in the big and medium cities but the petrol pumps, especially in rural India, derive power from diesel generators sets as they do not have a continuous power supply or do not have power lines.  The operation cost for running the pumps on diesel generators sets is very high. So using solar panels is more advantageous than a diesel generator. Use of solar energy in petrol pumps has proven to offer reliable operations of dispensing units even in load shedding hours. The dispensing units last long as the solar system provides superior power quality. Advantages: Can be used on pre-installed inverters Economic, Smal

Solar Energy in Transportation

As we all know solar energy is obtained from the sun’s radiation and it can be converted into electricity or heat. It is freely available and thanks to advances in technology, we can now harness even more of the solar energy that is continuously available to us. Solar energy is not only sustainable, it is renewable and this means that we will never run out of it. It is about as natural a source of power as it is possible to generate electricity. The creation of solar energy requires little maintenance. Once the solar panels have been installed and are working at maximum efficiency there is only a small amount of maintenance required each year to ensure they are in working order. They are a silent producer of energy. There is absolutely no noise made from photovoltaic panels as they convert sunlight into usable electricity. There are continual advancements in solar panel technolog y which are increasing the efficiency and lowering the cost of production, thus making it, even m

How to plan for solar panels for a new home?

Everyone has a dream to build their own new home. But building a new home is very challenging and a difficult process as well. There are so many things one should keep in mind such as finding the perfect block of land in the best suburbs, selecting the right builder and other things like furnishings, colours, fittings etc. If you decide to install solar panels on your rooftop when your home is being built, you can ensure that your home is designed with solar PV systems. While your solar energy system doesn’t need to be at the centre of all your home design decisions, anticipating and eliminating potential issues at the time of construction is a lot easier than trying to work around them later. The “ideal” solar home has a south-facing roof to capture as much sunlight as possible over the course of the day.  Every roof types are suitable for solar installation but some roof types will be difficult for the solar installers to work with.
